The Art of Law

Sophie Downey was a barrister practising in criminal law, with experience in both prosecution and defence, a musician, who sand Summertime at most Bar Association Annual Dinners, and on the side went to the Adelaide Central School of Art and painted her collegues in law, some judges, her friends and the odd random famous person.

Guy Ringwood, Potter

Join us from 1-4pm on Sunday 15th May as potter, Guy Ringwood turns his wheel live at The Lion as part of our Kickstart Sundays Program.
"Throwing, for me, is a form of meditation. Weilding my will on that ball of clay as it spins around and around, turning nothing into something. There is a feeling of time stopping when I am throwing, everything else fades away into nothing. This is what drives my practice."

The Art of Glass

Originally from New Zealand, George Agius has travelled around the world honing her skills in the art of glass.
After studying at Wanganui Glass School in New Zealand, George moved to Canada to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary in 2011. She then relocated to Adelaide to begin her two year associate training program in the Glass Studio at the Jam Factory Contemporary Craft and Design. George is now a full time practising artist at the Jam Factory.

Today, The Lion seamlessly blends contemporary architecture with the heritage fabric of the building to deliver The Lion experience that patrons know and love.
