The Art of Law

Sophie Downey was a barrister practising in criminal law, with experience in both prosecution and defence, a musician, who sang 'Summertime' at most Bar Association Annual Dinners, and on the side went to the Adelaide Central School of Art and painted her collegues in law, some judges (Chief Judge Chris Kourakis pictured), her friends and the odd random famous person.

In May 2015 she held her first solo exhibition at Fisher Jeffries, the first place she worked as a solicitor 20 years earlier. We're thrilled to have Sophie to The Lion on Sunday 3rd July as she sketches and paints her way through the afternoon as part of our Kickstart Sundays program.

Speaking of the dark arts, Brewer Jon Meneses and Brand Ambassador Adrian Clark from Coopers Brewery will be on hand to introduce you to the dark side of the Coopers family. IPA, Dark Ale and Vintage 2016 will be their special guests.

For more information please contact Jacob Wight at The Lion Hotel on 8367 0222 or Sophie Downey on 0437 796 901.
